This year the Iowa Foster & Adoptive Parents Association (IFAPA) will hold its 5th Annual Foster Care Walk. Stride for Foster Care - Take a Walk on a Child's Side, is a fundraising walk benefiting Iowa's children in foster care. This year's family-friendly event will take place the morning of Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Raccoon River Park (2500 Grand Ave, West Des Moines). The Stride for Foster Care event will include a 3.2-mile walk around the beautiful Blue Heron Lake at Raccoon River Park and will end with free lunch and activities for all.

Help Iowa's children in foster care by creating your own fundraising page and collecting pledges. Funds raised during this campaign will be used to support IFAPA's Friends of Children in Foster Care Program. This program provides Iowa's children in foster care with the funds they need for those special “extras” in life which they would otherwise not receive.

 

 

2012 Stride for Foster Care Walk

At any given time, there are approximately 3,600 Iowa children in foster care. To help only half of those children in Iowa each year would cost $360,000.
