Wonder Women

Team Wonder Women is made up of women who work in the foster care/adoption field.  We are all passionate about the care of children in Iowa's foster care system.

Funds raised by our group will benefit the Iowa Friends of Foster Children Foundation as well as the Iowa Foster and Adoptive Parents Association. 
 
The intention of the Iowa Friends of Foster Children Foundation is to provide “quality of life” opportunities to abused and neglected children in Iowa’s foster care system – items the children and their foster families can not afford to cover or purchase.  The items purchased remain with the child through any changes in their placement.  Examples include:

- Summer camp scholarships
- Music lessons, equipment, 
          supplies, instrument rental 
- Sports, and fitness fees, lessons,
          and equipment such as track
          shoes, swimming lessons,
         ball gloves, etc.  
- Dance lessons and equipment, 
         Girl Scout fees
- Bikes – used as transportation
         for part-time jobs
- Senior pictures, class rings and 
         graduation expenses. 

The Iowa Foster and Adoptive Parents Association provides support, training and resources for Iowa's foster, adoptive and kinship families.

As Executive Director of IFAPA, please help support our association  in providing the supports that are necessary to assist the foster, adoptive, and kin families in providing for Iowa's children.  We are one of the few  State associations who provides the quality, and types of support.  The foster, adoptive, and kin families do a wonderful job in caring for the children.  Show them you support and acknowledge the work that they do.

As far as the Iowa Friends of Foster Children who provide financial support to foster children for items that are not covered and help them achieve a more normal life in school and activities, our staff volunteer all their time to keep the association running.  Help provide for the needs of these kids and show them they do matter.
