Walk for "Miles"
Many of you may not know, but I work for the Foster & Adoptive Parents Association. We are putting on our fifth annual walk, Stride for Foster Care - Take a Walk on a Child's Side. The proceeds from this walk are going towards our Friends of Children in Foster Care Program. This program was established in 1991 to provide funding for items the benefit chdilren in foster care but are not covered by the state's foster care or medical programs. We believe that every child in foster care should have the same oppotunities as other children. Friends Program provides a $200 grant for youth in foster care to get items such as: senior pictures, a week at summer camp, swimming lessons, to be able to participate in a sport or activity.

There are close to 4000 children in Iowa's foster care system, to help only half of those would cost $400,000 we need YOUR HELP!

I would love if you would join us in this walk, as this is the second year I have been in charge of this event. If you can't attend but would like to make a donation, that would be greatly appreciated. The more people we can get involved the better.
